The PlayStation Now subscription service launched last week on the PlayStation 4, with a free one week subscription available to everyone. This review is based on my experience with the service after I participated in the trial and i have paid for a subscription.

The long awaited service launched with 107 titles available to stream instantly, including titles such as ‘The Last of Us’ ‘God of War: Ascension’ ‘Bioshock Infinite’ ‘The Walking Dead Season 1’ and many others, with many more to come. The current goal is to get all, or as many as possible, PlayStation 3 games on the service, and then look at the older generation of games. The Service is $19.99 a month or $44.99 for 3 months (roughly $15 a month) and this subscription allows you to stream any game available on the service indefinitely, as long as you are a subscriber.

While playing, I encountered few issues with the service, being kicked completely out of a game twice, but the issues do exist. The primary issue encountered is lagging in the stream, which can make it hard to play the games at points.psnow-logo-centered-threecolum-us-05jun14 I highly recommend paying hardwired into your router instead of WiFi and this should fix a good number of issues. If you are worried your internet isn’t good enough to stream you can test the connection through the store before you download the service.

For me, this service is highly worth it, for the shear number of current and promised games. Games that i personally never got to finish or even play. So I recommend everyone try the trial at the least and see if this is a good fit for them.

What are your opinions on the service so far? Have any Games you would like us to review? Let us know below and don’t forget to check us out on Facebook by clicking here.

Video Game news & rumors roundup of the week!

Written by: Native Gamer

All in all thissilent_hill.0.0_cinema_960.0.0.0_cinema_1200.0 week is a good week to be a gamer, we are treated to a new IP in the Evil Within (touted as being reminiscent of the  classic horror era of the original Silent Hill and Resident Evil games). Also we finally get our hands on the highly anticipated sequel  in the new Borderlands game. Both games that I personally have yet to get my hands on, but have heard many good things about,  from trusted sources and friends alike. In related news, Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Silent Hills’ has a tentative release  date of the fall of 2016. It is going to be built on the Fox Engine and based on the fact that Kojima has reportedly said the Playable  Teaser was toned back graphically, we can expect beautifully horrifying things from the full game.

But this week has seen its share of controversy as well, with the Trailer for the Polish made game ‘Hatred’ hitting the web and making the rounds. ‘Hatred’, an isometric shooter, based on what we have seen so far is going to put you in the role of a serial killer in at least a semi open world. The premise itself is enough to give most people pause, but the chilling monologue from the games ‘protagonist’ that accompanied it, really sets the tone for why people are unsure of how to feel about this game.  The only thing I can say is, this isn’t the kind of game that I would ever play, but they have the right to make and release it. Whether it will ever make it that far, or if it could actually gain traction in the market, will have to wait until it’s released to be seen.LoL

In other news the League of Legends World Championship Finals was aired on ESPN3 on Sunday October 19th.  This is a big achievement for ESports, despite the fact that ESPN as a whole is still hesitant to acknowledge ESports  as anything more than a competitive hobby. But with each new generation, and each successful big MLG event this  industry will grow. You tell me if it looks like a small event? (picture on right)

Below is a full list of the news and releases this week

Also in gaming news and rumors this week:

Does Batfleck have his trusty sidekick and does this mean full blown Dark Knight Returns?

Well, we know one thing for sure. Jena Malone is confirmed for a part in the coming Batman Vs Superman movie. There are tons of rumors going around right now that says she will be playing the female Robin, Carrie Kelley, from Frank Millers “The Dark Knight Returns” series. The major question is, is it true? Well… let’s take the trusty eye test and let’s see.

Jena_Malone_Deauvilledownload (1)Looking at them next to each other, it looks good to me. I think that this is the part for her. She has the young look to pull off the version of Robin they seem to be aiming at. It only makes sense that Carrie Kelly would be in the movie seeing the choice of style for the Batman costume. Everyone said from the start that it looked just like Frank Millers Batman and then they announce Malone is in the movie and, even if not confirmed 100% right now, everyone jumps to this conclusion. It makes complete sense to me.

Her roles in the past, from Rocket in Sucker Punch to Johanna in The Hunger Gamer, has gotten her ready for this role. She knows how to do the action scenes and she knows how to act. I believe that they could not have done a better job in the choice of a Robin. It helps add in another great female role and adds another side to Bruce/Batman all together.

The next question is, will the story line will follow to Miller comics and story line in general? How does all of this fit into the universe they are trying to create? Well, I have an idea or two…250px-Dark_knight_returns

I believe the movie will follow rather closely to the Earth-31 story line from DC and follow most of the Dark Knight Returns story, minus the Joker. There are just many similarities between what we know about Batman Vs Superman and the original story for the two not to be linked. I believe we will see the Mutants, a gang running wild in Gotham,  that will lead to the Sons of Batman, and Superman will end up working with the Government for that final showdown in Crime Alley. I do believe it will not be Oliver (the Green Arrow) that ends up helping him take Supes down but it will end roughly the same way. I do think that we will see the “death” of Batman/Bruce Wayne in the movie. What a way to shake up things and put the average movie goer at the edge of their seats… I CAN NOT WAIT! I am finally pumped and excited to see what DC can bring to life in this series of movies.

We talk coming home and cosplay with Meg Turney!

Well guys, one of the highlights of the Alamo City Comic Con for me was getting the chance to meet Meg Turney from Rooster Teeth and get to know her a little better. Below is the interview from the weekend. Make sure to check out all the links at the bottom and the small gallery!

Me: How are you enjoying San Antonio so far?

Meg Turney: I love it. I’m from Austin so I’m familiar with San Antonio.

Me: Are you excited to be back in Austin?

Meg: Absolutely! So excited. Um, I mean California was fun, but it’s good to be home.

Me: I know from everything that you sounded glad to be back. Are you getting to much grief for working here in Austin with Rooster Teeth and all that?

Meg: I find that the real fans are just excited that I’m happy, and the people that say things like ” oh bad career move” or whatever they want to say, um those aren’t real fans so they’re not my focus.

Me: Absolutely, I was sad to see you leave Source Fed, you were one of my favorites, but now it is changing and evolving. What do you think about some of the newer people they have on Source Fed like Matt Lieberman?

Meg: You know actually, when i was discussing leaving, I told Phil (Philip Defranco)  or Phil and I talked about my leaving pretty early on, so I had a chance to meet all the new people. I kind of actually put my input into who I thought could fill the role the best and Ranna is amazing, I love her. I fought really hard, not fought like i had to fight but I was just really vocal about how much I liked her and I was really happy that they chose to have her come on and sort of fill my place there cause I think she is fantastic.

Me: So what are your plans now, working with Rooster Teeth, going forward? Any big plans?

Meg: You know just doing Rooster Teeth stuff. We just started the know it all series. It’s been really fun and I love doing a live show, which is exciting. I’m just starting to do the patch, hopefully sometime I will do the podcast. Just trying to get my footing in Rooster Teeth and in their fan base. And honestly, my favorite thing is just talking about video game news and I get to do that every day so I’m happy with that.

Me: Any cosplays coming up?

Meg: Yes! I Actually have been working on a Utena costume from Revolutionary Girl. I am about a solid days work away from finishing it. I thought I was going to get to finish it this weekend; i just didn’t have time. That will be next and I am really excited about that.

Me: How did Penny (Her dog) take the move?

Meg: Oh, Penny is so happy. We have a back yard, which she never had in California. She has a cat friend now. So that was an adjustment, but I think she really does enjoy it. When he’s not around she looks for him and they’re friends.  I think L.A. was just to much city for Penny. She loves squirrels/ and all that so she really loves it.

Me: Well, thank you very much for your time.

Meg: Of Course!

Me: It was great getting to meet you and talk with you.

Meg: Thank you so much.

As always guys, thanks for checking this out and hope to see you all again! We will have more interviews from ACCC 2014 soon and more news, reviews, and just randomness. Keep checking in and let us know what you would like to see in the future!

AC travels to Paris and China!

Let’s start with some back ground. I LOVE the Assassin’s Creed franchise. It is by far my favorite game series (even though Destiny is gaining ground). The mix of history and fiction has had me hooked since the original. With that said, let’s discuss the new info let out.

Ubisoft released a little more information on the season pass for Unity. There will be the usual added missions and items but they are also adding an entire new story line following the events you go through in Unity called Dead Kings. This story looks awesome and allows you to go through real tunnel systems out side of Paris where the old kinds of France are/were actually buried. This leads to a puzzle system of traps and a new band of bad guys. To me, this looks like the big winner. I can’t wait to play this at the beginning of next year.

The second big announcement was Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China. When I first heard the name I almost lost it! Was I finally going to get the awesome story through China that I wanted! Old school warriors with the amazing armor armored weapons from that time, would be the one thing that I’m missing in this franchise… with that said the answer is… kinda?

While it will be through China in that time, it will not be an assassin’s creed story like we are used to. This game will be a stand alone that uses more of a side scrolling adventure (as seen above). The art style is following the brush paintings from the time, which looks awesome.

My only worry is that it’s not “Assassin’s Creed” like we are used to. Change is not always a bad thing but to finally give me the time period I’ve been craving in a way that does not allow we to explore it like I’m used to us just… well mean!

Now this game may be awesome in its own right, but I feel like I’ll be wishing it was the same game play as the others to much to enjoy it. I love the art and it looks awesome but… I don’t know guys. What do you think? Are you looking forward to Unity? Let us know!
